It works best on a skin fade or a section shaved down close enough to hold sharp detail. Because more of the head is shaved close for a Big Design, expect the same faster regrowth as a skin fade, and plan to rebook every 2 to 3 weeks to keep the detail crisp.

The design is worked freehand with clippers and trimmers across a larger section of the fade, building up the pattern in stages and checking the lines as it goes. A Big Design takes longer than a Small Design or a plain fade, so it's worth mentioning when you book so there's enough time set aside in the appointment.
